in October….again this year. Yep, you heard right. This is nothing new in Vermont. Just 2 weeks ago it was gorgeous here – bursting with beautiful autumn colors, and now – it is 30’s and snowing. Guess we will need to bundle up come Halloween night – again.
So it was homecoming weekend this week for my one son (9th grade) who goes to a boarding school here in Vermont. He had a great weekend – there was a pep rally at school to help support the school’s team spirit, a parade through the town (which he was a part of), then a big bonfire after the parade (and free pizzas). Then Saturday was the big football game (in the pouring, freezing rain!). Last, but not least, the homecoming dance on Saturday night :) Oh, I remember the days…
Has anybody started their holiday shopping yet? I have – in October – again. Hard to think about holiday shopping already but it will be here before we know it. Ho Ho.
Ahhh, I have some awesome news!! We have been working on the upcoming launch for my magazine Mom Writer’s Literary magazine (which launches December 18th) and you are NOT going to believe who wants to be a part of our magazine for mom writers and authors…The one and only JODI PICOULT!!!! I am so thrilled and honored to have Jodi interviewed at MWLM – she is such an excellent writer. We only live an hour apart from each other so that is really cool. Please check out Jodi’s profile in our next issue this winter at http://www.momwriterslitmag.com
OK. That is it from me for today – time to get back to mommyhood and checking out our white pumpkins…

and I can’t seem to get a damn thing accomplished!
My parents and nephew (who were here for the week from Florida) have left and it is back to reality – work and busyness! We had a nice visit of siteseeing, shopping and eating out at a lot of different restaurants. A LOT of restaurants. I think I need to walk some extra miles on the treadmill over the next couple of weeks. Here’s a pic of me and mom after our long country walk –
So, my new blog podcast What Did You Do All Day? will be launching soon – Yay! You also will be noticing a new personal website and a new look to my blog. :) If you have the time, check out my literary magazine for mom writers and authors, Mom Writer’s Literary magazine which is doing so well and keeping me extremely on my toes.
I’m still working with my literary agent on Adoption Journey, my upcoming book-it is amazing how lengthy the whole process really is. I have been working on this anthology for over a year and now we are doing the final putting it together and then we start looking for a publisher soon and then it will show up on the book shelves at B&N – oh, say, hopefully by the year 2008!
I’m still reading Claire Messud’s novel The Emperor’s Children - seems there is never time to sit, relax and read. I already bought three other books that are sitting on my desk collecting dust right now, but, I will eventually get to them – hopefully by Thanksgiving!
So, did anyone see that movie…The Grudge 2? One of my son’s saw it the other day with his gang of friends and he told me all about it – sounds like a good one. Who thinks of these stories anyways?
Well, I’m off to pick up one of my boys. Have an awesome weekend!

Yes, it is that time of year again. Autumn in Vermont and it is absolutely breathtaking.
I just like to drive around and be outside at this time of year. I actually enjoy running errands in September and October so I can see the beauty that God has given us – Fall season in Vermont.
Of course, along with the beautiful fall season there are visitors – in this case – my parents and five year old nephew coming from Florida :) I have planned several things to do while they are here and it will be great to see them. They love shopping and going out to eat, so I’ve got that covered.
Well, I am off to enjoy some outdoors time with the family – fall season only last about a month unfortunately. Now where is my camera…
Enjoy!

Well I feel happy and refreshed this morning. Know why? No, not sex.
I took some time for myself last night and went out with a girlfriend, that’s why!
All it took was 3 1/2 hours of dinner (don’t forget the dessert!) and some good conversation and I feel ten pounds lighter and REFRESHED. Such a great feeling. My friend, Robin, is such a sweetheart. She surprised me and paid for the dinner and bought me a birthday gift (b-day was in September). GOOD FRIENDS are so important. It’s just finding the time to get together that is difficult. Robin has three kids and I have five and our children are extremely active in sports, music, school events, etc, however, about four times a year we say, screw it, we are dropping everything and spending good quality friendship time together -
As the song goes…"Oh ya gotta have frieeeeeeennds!"
How True.
