again this year. Where does the time go? I love Thanksgiving. All the wonderful food, the gathering of family and friends. For me it is a time to be thankful and count my many blessings.
This year my husband and I and four of our five kids (plus Phillip's girlfriend Sarah who is from Korea), drove to Canterbury, NH (The Canterbury Shaker Village) to meet with our oldest son, Tony and his girlfriend, Meghan, who drove from Andover, Massachusetts where Meghan's family lives. We met and celebrated a Thanksgiving meal together at lunchtime and it was so good to just talk and laugh together. And the food was excellent. Those Shakers sure know how to cook ;) After we said our goodbyes we headed back home to Vermont and Tony and Meg headed to Boston to meet Meghan's family where they were having their Thanksgiving dinner. And so Turkey Day has come and gone, and today, Black Friday is here. I should have headed out to the malls to shop so I could at least have walked off the calories from yesterday while I "charged it", but instead, I sat on my ass all afternoon clicking from site to site, shopping the easy way. No crowds. It was worth it. I have just about finished my holiday shopping for 2008…Cool.
Here are more pics of the new do, Nick's b-day, and of course, Thanksgiving 2008…
Be well,
Paula
Tom catching me on my way out the door…huh

We're celebrating Nicky's 20th birthday 5 days late. He was born 20 years ago, November 18, 1988. He's home from college for the week on Thanksgiving break – a much needed week off. HIs dinner request – Steak smothered with melted Chipotle cheese and mushrooms, fresh green beans and home fried peppery potatoes. I was surprised as he is more of a seafood kind of guy, but hey, I've got my chef's apron, I'm ready. We'll take lots and lots of pics tonight for the occasion :)
I got my hair cut a few days ago…sad to do it, but it was time. I love long, wavy, thick hair – I even dream about it – problem is…I'll never have it. My hair is soft and fine. Oh, my beauticians always tell me I have a head full of hair – lots and lots of it – it's just baby fine and it has no body on its own. I get body waves from time to time, but that just damages your hair in the end so I did it. I got the Sally Shag. You may be wondering who the hell Sally is. She is the person who does the hair of celebrities and she is famous for – Meg Ryan's signature cut called – The Sally Shag. So, I did it. It is short and all layered and, well, shagged. This pic is the day it was cut and styled. Robin, my hair mama, decided that day to style it "elegant and tidy" which is everything the shag is not. I still need to get pics of me looking shaggy and will post those soon, but for now, here's the new do – elegant, tidy and damn short.
Happy Birthday Nicholas!!!!!!!Happy Thanksgiving everyone :)

I'm Christmas shopping again today….online. Or so I should be, instead of blogging and surfing the internet, checking Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Twitter Moms, etc, etc. The holidays are sneaking right up on me, and once again, I'm panicking – and procrastinating. It's so easy to shop from my computer, yet so easy to become….well, distracted. I'm planning a day soon to go holiday shopping at the mall (which is only a 1 1/2 hour drive away…). I'm thinking positive. It will get done. No stress on me….it will all work out. It will all work out……..39 days and counting……
Back to Halloween…It was fun, it was groovy, and the kids thought so too. Anna Banana was a little ol' witch and the boys…the boys were — hell, I'm not sure exactly what they were. When I left with Anna to go trick-or-treating J told me he was the sticky note guy…? Guess that plan changed. And Phil….I think he was supposed to be a Bob Marley fan, sort of a hippie tie-dye lover…? All that matters is fun was had by all that night AND the weather cooperated. We weren't melting and we weren't freezing our asses off. Here's the gang -
Anna looking witchy
Phil, J and friend Randy looking….well, groovy.
I want to wish Nicholas a Happy 20th birthday (the 18th). We will see you next week Nacky! And Happy Turkey Day everyone!!! Paula
