A two wheeler and guilty pleasures
July 5th, 2009 by Paula

The other day we took our daughter to the school’s soccer field to practice on her bicycle – without training wheels.  Mind you she is 7 1/2 years old and still does not have much interest in riding on her Disney Princess bike without those two extra wheels.  We took her anyway promising a special treat (the eating kind – the kid will do anything for food).  I was so excited. This is such a special time in a child’s (and parents) life and she did great!

Anna banana on the Disney Princess TWO wheeler! Woot!

While at the school’s field, I couldn’t help but notice two older women slowly walking by, talking to each other and glancing our way watching Anna.  A few minutes later I looked for them again and you’ll never guess where I found them…

Spending time together at the playground, swinging. Priceless!

So last week I saw something on CNN.com asking readers to video and share their “guilty pleasures” and upload videos onto the CNN.com site for the world to see.  Sounded good.  I decided to interview my two sons, Phil and J.  I figured I could find out some things about them that I didn’t know (and maybe wasn’t sure I wanted to know).  Ends up, I taped the interview and couldn’t get the damn thing to upload, so here’s the interview anyway to share with ya’ll!

I’d love to hear from ya’ll!  Come on. What are some of your guilty pleasures (OK, ones you can share!)  :)  Leave me a comment, I’d love to hear!

Dude!  Sending my little brother in Florida big congrats and best wishes hugs!  He qualified for the Florida Open and heads to Vero Beach next week to play more golf – Really cool and so excited!!  Break a leg David (not literally, K :) )

Concrats to cousin David. So sad that we have to hear such good news thru your website. Life is too short! Glad to see you and your family are all happy and healthy. I am fortunate to share the same blessing!

That’s so cool about the ladies on the swings! My aunt recently told me about playing in the kiddies’ pool at a resort with her friend (both are in their fifties) and having a blast with the slide and water guns. :) My guilty pleasures… reading blogs like this!

Hi Eileen,

Nice to hear from you. Are you still living in Georgia? How are your kids? They grow so fast…to fast! Take care :)

Hi Bonnie! Isn’t that picture the best?!! So sweet. Good for your aunt and her friend. Sounds like a good time to me! Thanks for the kind words on my blog – in any spare time I get, I enjoy reading blogs too. So many blogs….not enough time!!

I just love the picture of the two older ladies. I don’t even know who they are. They could be sisters or best friends. I just thought it was adorable when they walked to the swings, got on, and were just swinging together. So nice.

Now *THAT’S* what I want to be doing when I’m old! Forget this knitting circle crap…give me a swing any day! ;-)

Congrats to the girlie…my 4 1/2 yr old fell off his (little) bike with training wheels ONCE and I can’t get him back on the thing! Instead he rides his brother’s big wheel which he’s WAAAAY too big for.

I’m with you! I want to be swinging :)
She is doing great on her bike now. Give your son a couple weeks, he should come around….hopefully!
Oh gosh, I remember those Big Wheels! We had one many moons ago :)
