It’s the crazy busy time of year, oh dear!
November 21st, 2009 by Paula

Just returned from a high school play (Oklahoma!) that my son Phillip was in.  Actually, he was part of the pit band playing the bass guitar.  The show ran four times over the past week and I took my daughter Anna banana this afternoon after we went out and filled our bellies with a tasty lunch.  Of course she had to count EVERY SINGLE kissing scene and say out loud after each and every smooch, “Mommy, that’s the fifth kiss already. Are they going to get married now?”  Innocence, it’s a beautiful thing.

So its been a tad busy around here the past couple weeks.  I am doing superb on the holiday shopping, about half done and my plan is to be completely finished by December 1st.  Think I can do it?  You bet your sweet patootie I will.  I am a mom with a credit card on a mission.  We are decorating next weekend after turkey day.  Looking forward to that.  I’ve already started listening to Christmas tunes, ya know, gets me in the mood….for shopping, decorating, xmas cards, baking,… and eating.  My two oldest guys, Tony and Nick, will be coming for Thanksgiving this week.  Cool.  We should have some awesome jams going for the week as my four guys have promised to play and entertain their mom and dad while they are all together.  One of my favorite family traditions, thank you boys ;)

I realized the other day that my 25th wedding anniversary is sneaking right up on me.  Twenty-five years dude and right after Christmas.  The hubby has a plan in mind to take me away for a few days.  How we will work that out is still a mystery but we will do it.  As of right now our oldest, Tony, and his girlfriend have so kindly volunteered to watch over his younger siblings in Boston.  No complaints on that.  Perfect.  We just might take him up on that.  (Psst, Tony and Meg, I’m already packing)  :)

Nick, son number 2 just celebrated his big 21 a few days ago.  I guess he and his gang headed to Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut last night for some chow and gambling.  Hey, he won like $85.  Not too shabby Nicholas.  Happy you all had fun!

On another note — Please pray for a wonderful lady ( a mommy blogger) whom I was lucky to meet for the first time this past summer at the BlogHer conference in Chicago.  Her name is Anissa and a few days ago she suffered a massive stroke and is in the ICU in Atlanta Georgia.  You are in my thoughts and prayers Anissa.  Keep fighting!

Happy Thanksgiving ya’ll!
